Botanica Poder del Mestizo is a magical entity, a semi-submerged and mystical network of organic intertwining interests. Through its workshops, murals, pamphlets and audio cds it spreads an archaic gospel of self-healing and microcosmic attentiveness to issues of the macrocosm. Brought to the United States from Mexico in 1995 by Liki Renteria, son of boy-wonder founder Ricardo Desuarez Renteria, the Botanica continues its most important work: the creation of a massive underground garden, a "Teacher Garden" of surreal, conceptual, healing and poisonous plants.
